German antique silver two-light candelabra this is a silver spirally fluted domed base and arms two-light candelabra made in Germany at the beginning of 20th century. It is hallmarked with German State crescent moon and crown silver guarantee mark, 835 silver standard and maker's mark G in Star of David for Jakob Grimminger who worked in Schwabisch Gmund. The firm was founded in 1893 and by the 1930 had a fine reputation as producer of modern silver. Grimminger is written about and his maker's mark is illustrated in - Art Nouveau and Art deco Silver - by Annelies Krekle-Aalberse.
This silver candelabrum is 8 3/4 in. wide (cm. 22,5) and was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair.
