portrait miniature on ivory
this is a portrait miniature painted on ivory, likely at the end of 19th century. The portrait has a bronze
liner and inlaid ivory frame.The back is lined with a page from an old book. The subject is identified as Queen Sofie on the back, in hand written pencil.
The frame measures 4 in. (cm. 10) x 5 1/2 in. (cm. 14) and was bought from a Swedish dealer through the Internet.
