silver sauce boat (or pap boat?)- Austria

Austrian antique silver sauce or pap boat this silver sauce boat has hallmarks of Pest ( Budapest: Austria - Hungary) by silversmith Gyorgy Goszmann (1807-after 1866), master 1836 (courtesy Charles C. Cage).
The shape is quite unusual for a sauce boat and, maybe, this is a feeding cup for infants or invalids (the Continental equivalence of the English 'pap boat'). In 18th and 19th century the "pap boat" was used by parents or nursemaids to feed a baby. Pap was a thick mixture of gruel based on milk.
The boat is 6 1/2 in. long (cm. 16) and was bought from an English dealer through the Internet.

Here is illustrated also an English silver pap boat, London, circa 1750.

My item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet. On the right bar of this page there are some links to websites of silver and antique dealers
