silver pipe holder - Austria


Austrian antique silver pipe holder this silver pipe-holder was made in Wien - Austria by silversmith Carl Muller, working 1883-1915 (ref. Waltraud Neuwirth, Lexicon Weiner Gold- & Silberschmiede 1867-1922, v. 2, pp. 72-74: courtesy Charles C. Cage).
It has gilded interior and bears hallmarks of the period 1872/1922 (purity degree 950/1000) and silversmith mark CM.
The pipe-holder is 4 3/4 in. long (cm. 12) and was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair.

This item is not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet.
