pair of silver salt cellars - Genoa - Kingdom of Sardinia
this pair of salt cellars was made in Genoa (Kingdom of Sardinia) in the first half of the 19th century. They have a crystal bowl fitting into a silver base on four floral legs.
The salt cellar has the 800/1000 hallmark for large works (Cross of SS. Maurizio e Lazzaro) and the unidentified silversmith's mark BN
Bibliography: a largely similar couple of salt cellars (maker BN) is illustrated on page 223 of Gianna Rocattagliata's book 'Argenti Genovesi'
The salts have a diameter of 2 3/4 in. (cm. 7) on the bowl, is 4 in. (cm. 10) high and was bought from an US dealer through the Internet.

These items are not for sale, but most of my pieces were bought through the Internet. On the right bar of this page there are some advertisings of websites of silver and antique dealers
